In celebration of their fifth studio album, Nightmare, which is scheduled for release this week, we’ve decided to give you just a bit more information on the tattooed California rockers known as Avenged Sevenfold.
1. Guitarist Zacky Vengeance is left-handed.
2. Bassist Johnny Christ is the youngest member of the band. He is 25 years old.
3. Synyster Gates’ father is Brian Haner, also known as the Guitar Guy from Jeff Dunham’s comedy shows.
4. Vocalist M. Shadows’ wife, Valary DiBenedetto, is A7X’s former tour manager and has contributed vocals/screams on a few of the band’s tracks.
5. Synyster Gates only contributed to one song, ‘To End the Rapture’, on the band’s first album Sounding the Seventh Trumpet.
6. In the music video for ‘Beast and the Harlot’, the role of the Harlot is played by actress Elizabeth Melendez.
7. M. Shadows’ real name is Matthew Sanders.
8. City of Evil has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
9. Even though drummer “The Rev” Jimmy Sullivan passed away before the actual recording of Nightmare, his vocals can still be heard on various tracks.
10. Johnny Christ’s real name is Jonathan Seward.
